What is Post Cycle Therapy?
When people who have spent a significant time at the gym show little results in terms of physical development due to low HGH or testosterone levels, they usually have to undergo post cycle therapy for physical development. Many of you may be wondering what is post cycle therapy and how it works. In this post we’ll give you a breakdown of these two question in a simple manner.
Post Cycle Therapy Overview
Post Cycle Therapy is a therapy that involves boosting hormone and estrogen levels in the human body with a combination of medication, supplements and other substances. This therapy is very sensitive as the previous medical records and the ingredients of the medications and supplements have to be kept in mind while formulating the therapy.
This is due to the fact that many of the compounds and ingredients in those medications and supplements have been found to react adversely with the human body and can cause more damage than good.
Elements of Post Cycle Therapy
In almost all cases, post cycle therapy comprises of the following elements:
SERM- SERM (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator) is a compound that helps in controlling the estrogen levels of the human body. Without the stabilizing effects of SERM, the other hormones and supplements intake for the post cycle therapy can cause adverse effects such as man boobs. SERMS helps in boosting the body’s testosterone levels and maintaining muscle mass gained though workout. Commonly prescribed SERM medications include Nolvadex and Clomid.
Aromatose Inhibitors- The human body is prone to naturally convert testosterone into estrogen. This is adverse for muscle and mass gain. To reduce this conversion, aromatose inhibitors are used in post cycle therapy. In mild and selective cases of hormonal disorders caused by supplements and medications, aromatose inhibitors can reverse the effect.
Cycle support products- Post cycle therapy is not finished with just SERMS and aromatose inhibitors though they are the main components of the therapy. To successfully continue and complete the therapy, additional medications and supplements are required during and after the post cycle therapy period. This is to combat any side-effects caused by SERM and aromatose inhibitor intake.
In most cases post cycle therapy continue for up to a period of two months in average. By this period the results of the therapy are noticeable and if the gains are not enough, the therapy can be resumed after a short interval.
